Alarm Notification

DAQFactory SCADA / HMI Software

Using the alarming features of DAQFactory SCADA software to alert you of out-of-bounds conditions keeps your system running efficiently and safely:

Use alarming to monitor for specific conditions

DAQFactory alarming allows you to monitor for particular conditions. Unlike other SCADA tool's alarming features, you are not limited to LowLow, Low, High and HighHigh alarm types, but instead can create any criterea necessary to define your alarm. Of course DAQFactory alarming does include the other standard SCADA alarming features such as acknowledgement, logging, and notification.

Sound, horn, flashing light notification

When an alarm occurs, someone needs to know about it. DAQFactory can play a sound through the PC speakers, flash the screen, change the screen color, or control outputs to sound external horns, flashers or other devices.

Send email notification

Instead or in addition to local notification with sounds and flashers, DAQFactory can send an email to anyone with information about the alarm. You could even use DAQFactory's POP3 feature to allow someone to acknowledge the alarm or perform some other action by replying to the email. In many countries, text messages can be delivered to someone's cell phone using email as well.

Autodialer for voice notification

Email is subject to the reliability of your Internet connection and the receiver's ability to access their email. Using a voice modem, DAQFactory can dial people when an alarm or other event occurs and using voice synthesis or .wav file playback, describe the situation. Using DTMF tone detection or voice recognition, the user can then acknowledge the alarm, request additional information, or even control the system if you wish to allow it.
