In this section, we will add a channel to the document and start acquiring data. What to do next depends on whether you have any hardware available to you now, and which hardware. Section 2.5.2 will walk you through creating channels using the Test device which doesn't require any hardware. Sections 2.5.3 on are separate tutorial sections for creating the same channels with different hardware. You only need to do one of the sections and then can proceed to 2.6.
Note: often times getting hardware setup is the hardest part of creating DAQ applications. For this reason, if this is your first time with DAQFactory, you might want to proceed with section 2.5.2 first so that you can complete the guided tour quickly, then come back and repeat it with the section on your hardware.
