To load a document and start acquiring data using the settings of that document, select File - Open from the main menu and select the desired document file. This will stop any existing document running, load the new document, and start acquisition under the new parameters.
Documents created in different versions (Pro vs. Base) are compatible, however, when downgrading, not all the features of the document may be available.
Note: As of release 21.1, DAQFactory documents are signed to ensure that they are not corrupted outside DAQFactory. If the signature in the document is not valid, DAQFactory will not open the document. Since documents created prior to release 21 do not have a signature, you will receive a warning if you open an older document, but you can still proceed to open the document. Saving the older document under 21+ will sign the document.
The signature ensures that the document is a valid document created with DAQFactory. This helps protect against certain security concerns, but despite this added layer, you should always treat DAQFactory documents like you would executable files.
Note: Depending on the complexity of an already running document, it may take a short amount of time to shut down that document, load the new document and start it up.
