Maximum channels / tags
This is the maximum number of input and output channels (also known as tags) that can be created. Variables are not considered a tag, only I/O channels.
Runtime licenses
A runtime license is identical to a development license, but you cannot make changes such as adding or editing I/O points,
screen components, or scripts. You can, however, control outputs and perform any function accessible from the screens you created with your development version of DAQFactory. With Developer, runtimes are royalty-free: documents you save with
Developer run in runtime mode without buying a Runtime license for each computer.
Hardware key
A thumb-sized USB key that holds your development license, so you can move it between computers,
or plug it into a runtime installation to make changes on site without stopping.

Do you need to install your application on a lot of systems? Developer is DAQFactory Pro plus royalty-free runtimes. Documents you save with Developer run in runtime mode on your customers' computers, so you don't have to buy a Runtime license for each install. The hardware key is included, so you can plug your development license into any installation and make changes on site without stopping the application.

Deploying a finished application? A Runtime license runs applications built with DAQFactory Lite, Base or Pro, with full data acquisition, logging, control and screens, but no editing. It's a one-time purchase per computer, works with all DAQFactory releases, and has no subscription. With Developer you don't have to buy one.
